Ho ricevuto la vostra lettera e mi metto a vostra disposizione per tutti questi chiarimenti che desiderate.

Ho capito che vi sono state riferite alcune cose inesatte. Ho avuto, però, delle informazioni sul Reparto di vostro marito, ma poiché sono cose che non si possono dire per lettera e dato che mi avete accennato in una vostra lettera che venite a Firenze, sarò lieto di potervi dare a voce le notizie che vi interessano.

I understand that some inaccurate information has been conveyed to you. I have, however, obtained certain information regarding your husband’s unit; since these are matters that cannot be communicated by letter, and as you mentioned in one of your letters that you will be coming to Florence, I would be pleased to provide you in person with the news that concerns you.
